New Jewelry in Shop Part 1

I am a little late for the start of the holiday season, but I have several new pieces of jewelry listed tonight in my Etsy "Fancylinda" shop. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves...

And this is only the beginning! I will have more pieces listed tomorrow and over the next several days. So, please check back often...

My New iPhone - A Poll!

I got my first iPhone today (finally!), and the very first thing I did was download Cartolina's Par Avion app for sending pretty texts and emails.

You can download it (and her other apps) from the iTunes store.

Now, I need a case for my iPhone. I have looked at many options over the last few days, and I have narrowed it down to 4.

And I want you to help me decide which one to get!
Here are the choices:

Choice #1 is an owl design from Cartolina, available here.

Choice #2 is called "Lady Rococco", and it is by artist Maximilian San, available from Society 6

The next two choices are old images I have found that I would use to create my own case on Case-Mate's website.

Choice #3 is the tea drinking lady. I will most likely want to eliminate the border in Photoshop, and just use the image part.

Choice #4 is this peacock image. It is a mirror image of the original picture, because the way it was originally would cause the peacock's head to be where the hole for the camera is located. (I will also add a little bit more sky at the top in Photoshop, so I can move the image down a little.)

So, what do you think? I hope you will vote for your favorite in my little poll...

What iPhone case should I get?

Fancylinda Etsy Shop Revamp

A big thank you is due today to my lovely sister, who has made me a new banner for my Etsy "Fancylinda" shop.

I think it is very simple and pretty. The swallow has a ruby in his mouth, which is a reference to my favorite short story by Oscar Wilde, "The Happy Prince". If you haven't ever read this story, I recommend that you go here to read it online when you get a chance. It is a sweet (and a little bit sad) story of a swallow who takes the gemstones out of a town's statue and gives them to poor people.

I have been pretty much neglecting my "Fancylinda" shop for awhile, but I have some plans to update it. In celebration of its new look, I have listed a new necklace that I made recently, which is the first of many jewelry items that will be coming soon.

This particular necklace is quite fancy, but what I want to do mostly is make a lot of simpler pieces that use the supplies I sell in my "Teapots & Telephones" supply shop. That way I can put links from the supplies to the finished pieces to give people ideas of how to use them, and links from the finished pieces to the supplies in case someone would like to make their own variation. I believe that's called being "vertically aligned" in business terms. I will still have some more special one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces from time to time though.

The craft and ephemera kits are being moved to "Teapots & Telephones", where they will make more sense in that they are technically supplies.  However, I have put my Victorian Mourning craft kits on CLEARANCE in "Fancylinda" for now, since they've been there for so long.

I am hoping they will finally sell out at 50% off and I won't have to move them anywhere. Halloween will be here soon, and those kits are perfect for Halloween crafting if you are so inclined...

Happy Autumn!

Tinsel in July? Why not!

Is this vintage tinsel? No, it is not!
It is new tinsel that I have hand-tinted with alcohol inks.

I have been having fun experimenting with the alcohol inks and the tinsel, coming up with my own recipes for vintage-looking colors.

You don't have to wait until the holidays to use tinsel like this. I like to wrap it around little boxes for a fancy alternative to ribbon.

The tinted wired tinsel will be available in 3 yard lengths in my Etsy "Teapots & Telephones" shop very soon.
