I made these simple kokeshi doll earrings out of some vintage beads today. I photographed them using tips from Sparrow Salvage's backgrounds post. I think they look much better like this than on the solid slate background I would've used prior to reading her post.
I made them in two color options.
Sparrow Salvage posted a follow up to the backgrounds post today, in which she noted that we all don't have to use layers of paper as most of us have done. I realize this, but as of right now, I cannot find any other types of interesting textures to use. It is a work in progress, and I am starting simple. This type of artistic photo is new to me, as I have been photographing products for eBay for such a long time - where the thumbnails are small, and the product has to be featured as simply and clearly as possible. There is obviously much more room for creativity with Etsy photos.
And, if you're interested, you can find the kokeshi doll earrings for sale in my Etsy fancylinda shop now!
