Friday Antiquing

Here is what I got today on my scheduled budget antiquing trip.

A set of 4 Tavern bunny candles in their original box, a little Marie Antoinette picture in a Florentine frame, a silver filigree egg ornament, and a wooden sewing machine drawer. I actually got two of the sewing machine drawers, but I didn't photograph the other one because they look the same.

I passed up some beautiful children's books because I thought their price was too high (and they would've put me over my $40 budget). Then I came home and researched them, and ended up purchasing the same books on eBay for about a third the price I would've paid today in the shop. It pays to do your research!

Have a nice weekend everyone. I will be back soon with some shop updates, I hope!

More Antiquing Finds

I found these items a week ago, but I had all of the new kits to post, so I had not been able to post these until now.

A shell collection, some old tarot cards, a tea tin, owl salt & pepper shakers, a glass salt shaker, a bracelet with old coins on it, and a glass pearl necklace.

A beautiful old buckle, a dollhouse tea set (teapot is broken unfortunately, but I have plans for the cups...), some earrings, and some more glass pearls.

I have decided to make an antiquing schedule for myself. There are 4 different places that I go, so what I will do is go to one of the places each Friday. So, in a month, I will have gone to each place once. I think that will give them time to get new stuff in before I make my next visit. I plan to do this on a strict budget of $40 each Friday. And I will post my results here as a regular feature. Sounds like a plan!

More New in Shop

This Super Deluxe Vintage Ephemera Pack is available in my fancylinda Etsy shop right now.

This pack has been such fun to assemble. I have been paintstakenly collecting all the pieces for about the last two months.

I collected enough supplies to make a total of 6 kits that are all very similar in content.

Once they are gone, I will assemble some different ones. Ephemera collecting is my new love.

I know this pack is pretty expensive ($29.95), but look at all that you get! It's over 90 pieces of hand-selected items - no junk!

However, if you don't want to spend that much, I have made the first of an upcoming series of mini mixed-media themed kits that are only $4.95.

This first one is the "Par Avion Mini Kit."

Cute, yes? I think so. I am having fun coming up with the themes for these. You should be seeing 3 or 4 new ones in the shop very soon!

As you can see, it is packed full of perfectly coordinated crafting items. This is the first of many themed craft boxes you will see from me in the near future!

Recent Antiquing Finds

Wow, it has been a long time since my last post!
I thought you might enjoy seeing some little things I got while antiquing last week.

The book in the back with the feather pattern on it is an Audobon birds book with beautiful color plates. The book lying down in the front is in Japanese. I don't read Japanese, but the book has pretty yellowed pages with Japanese characters, and as the book was very inexpensive, I don't mind taking it apart and using the pages for an upcoming project. The big black crocheted buttons were in a jar of buttons. All the other buttons in the jar need a good washing before they are suitable for photographs. The set of playing cards has two decks - one with a green border (shown) and one with a pink border with different ladies on them.

I am going on another antiquing adventure next week, and I will post my findings then. Hopefully I'll get something more exciting than books and buttons.
