Yes, it has been forever since I last posted, but there is a reason for that. I had heart valve repair surgery and I am still recovering, and haven't felt like doing anything worth posting about. One thing I have noticed recently, since I have hearts on my mind, is the prevalence of anatomical hearts appearing in crafts of all mediums. Here are some favorite ones I have found:
This one has been on my Pinterest "Stitchery" board for awhile. Judging by the number of repins, a lot of people seem to like it. Embroidered heart by Carla Madrigal from here.
She has an Etsy shop here.
Felted wool hearts by OnceAgainSam on Etsy here. The one on the right is supposed to be human scale.
Heart shrine by calaverasycorazones on Etsy here. "Te lo entrego" means "I give it to you".
Anatomical heart note card and tag set by CrimsonHollow on Etsy here.
Hand carved rubber stamp by skullandcrossbuns on Etsy here.
Beadwork heart by Jan Huling here. I used to do sewn beadwork like this (well, not THAT good...) but lately I haven't had the patience or the eyesight for it. Maybe I'll get some strong magnifying glasses and pick it up again at some point.
Fancy heart necklace by TheLysineContingency on Etsy here. I like this. I might buy it. It would be a nice little memento of my surgery, I think.
Here is something everyone needs - some anatomical heart cabinet hardware by billyblue22 on Etsy here.
And lastly, is this flowering heart print on a vintage dictionary page by BIZZIBEEZ on Etsy here.
I hope you have enjoyed my little anatomical hearts 'n crafts tour.
Stay healthy and be creative!
